A playful dreamy mix of flickering colors, neon lights and dazzling doodles will conjure visions of Jules Engel, Harry Smith and Marry Ellen Bute. A whirlwind of musical disillusion will take you on a journey through unexplored worlds. Silent stop-motion scary stories. And reconstructed old movie palaces show a view of old Los Angeles from the Golden Age of Cinema. This program shows a collection of films by Huckleberry Lain throughout his twelve year career as an independent movie maker. The night will finish with a film by legendary director Mike Kuchar that stars Huckleberry Lain.
It was totally full and we had a lot of great people asking great questions. I think a lot of people liked the new film. If you want to see if please suggest it for a festival or local screening house.
In conjunction with my LA AIR residency at the Echo Park Film Center for February I am working on a new film and I’ll be screening it along with other treasures and a live expanded cinema performance on Feb 28th at 8PM. Look for more details at the EPFC calendar of events or the Facebook event page.
I will also be holding a workshop on film projection and expanded cinema performance on the 23rd from 1-5pm.
Check out my films, projects or blogs. If you like any of them please suggest them at a local independent theatre or art gallery or send me an email.
You can also occasionally find me streaming some really abstract visuals and sounds. Or go to my Ustream channel and find past broadcasts.
